Photo Essay: Obedience

We have nothing to do with what will follow our obedience, and we are wrong to concern ourselves with it. What people call preparation, God sees as the goal itself.

I've been to several writer's conferences over the years and plan to attend one or two this year.

Most every week day I go to my computer and write. I pay a professional to edit much of my work after I've been over it a dozen or more times. My shelves are full of how to write books and I subscribe to writer's magazines.

I interact with friends on Facebook about our writing, celebrating with them as they get books published.

In spite of my efforts, none of my work is published. Yet. Does that mean I should give up? Absolutely not! It means I should continue to be obedient to what God has called me to do. Already some of my work is being put to use in my blog. I'm learning my craft. I'm growing closer to the Lord. He's taking me through a process.

What goals are you trying to reach, but haven't yet? You feel you're following God's will for you, but nothing is happening - or is it? Sometimes He works swiftly and other times it seems to take forever. But we can be sure that if we're being obedient, He is being faithful.
